Ain is in the region of Burgundy, it is surrounded by Jura Mountains to the north Sae-et-Loire, Rhe, Ise, Savoie, and Haute-Savoie. On the east, it borders Geneva and Vaud. The major rivers are the Rhone, Sae, and Ain, with many small lakes, Veyle, Chalaronne, Reyssouze, and the Albarine, making this a fertile southern part of France ideal for farming. And a popular tourist destination.

The capital of Ain is Bourg-en-Bresse a busy major transportation area, farm market, and tourist centre,  here you will find manufacturers of Machinery, morocco leather, furniture, shoes, and ceramics. The church being of late 15th cent of nearby Brou is said to be one of the finest in France.
